Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Shanta Vriksha (tranquil tree) combined with Darshana—a Sanskrit word for “spiritual vi-sion” or “sacred sight.” The Malayalam name, Nirvrithi Chayanam (“assembly of peace/bliss”), offers a unique local identity, inviting viewers into a tableau designed for stillness and insight. A sanctified wall sculpture blending Indian spiritual artistry with Kerala’s tradition of woodcraft, the Shanta Vriksha Darshana transforms any wall into a calm altar. Rooted in the symbolism of enlightenment and the harmony of nature, this tableau uses carved detail to evoke the intertwining of meditation, heritage, and presence.

Sacred Parts, Timeless Wholeness

Each component reflects a story of devotion, culture, and skilled hands

Bodhi Anugraha of Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Bodhi Anugraha

Seated in serene dhyana atop a lotus, the Bodhi Anugraha (“Bodhi Blessing”) forms the luminous core of the panel. Rendered in a pose of quiet meditation, the figure embodies awakening, acceptance, and pure consciousness. Details are inspired by Gandharan re-finement and the devotional vocabulary of Kerala temples, radiating tranquility throughout the space. The meditative gaze draws all who enter into a moment of peaceful inner reflec-tion.

Mauna Vana of Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Mauna Vana

Mauna Vana (“forest of silence”) fills the background with etched banana leaves, lotuses, and slender trees, invoking Kerala mural traditions and sacred groves. The foliage cradles the seeker in a space apart from the world—suggesting that spiritual quietude and natural beauty are interwoven and always accessible for the mindful.

Mayura Pathra of Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Mayura Pathra

The Mayura Pathra, a pair of sculpted peacocks, stand sentinel along the sides. With gen-tly arched necks and delicately detailed plumage, these figures evoke the sacred guardi-anship of Indian mythology. Peacocks signal both presence and protection—carrying messages of divine guidance and auspicious energy, their poised stance a celebration of both beauty and balance.

Padma Simhasana of Shanta Vriksha Darshana

Padma Simhasana

The Padma Simhasana (“lotus throne”) forms the base, layered with petals that fan out-ward beneath the Buddha. Symbolizing purity’s triumph above all else, this throne visually elevates the sculpture, anchoring its spiritual import. The layered lotus also alludes to un-folding wisdom, supporting the meditative presence above with dignity and grace.
