Trista Side Chest

Trista Side Chest

The Triṣṭa Side Chest is a poetic celebration of perfect threes—three drawers, three planes of elevation, and the seamless union of form, function, and fine craft. Its presence is felt the moment you set eyes on it: a half-moon tabletop that appears to float on air, a disciplined grid of inset-panel drawers that whisper ancient rhythms, and a low plinth base that grounds the design in earthy solidity. Crafted from meticulously selected, kiln-dried hardwood, each Triṣṭa Side Chest is a living tapestry of hand-planed surfaces and gently chamfered edges. The natural grain shimmers in honey and amber tones, while every reveal and inlay molding is rendered by hand to exacting precision. Custom-cast brass ring pulls, their surfaces lightly antiqued, catch the light like quiet medallions, inviting you to lift each drawer with ease. More than a storage chest, Triṣṭa is a piece of living heritage. It speaks of Kerala’s temple-carving traditions and colonial-era joinery, reinterpreted for modern interiors. Display a brass lamp upon its crown, place a vase of jasmine on its tabletop, or lean a carved mirror above its crest—this chest becomes a stage for your life’s small rituals and treasured objects. Whether it lives beside a low platform bed, anchors a reading nook, or stands guard in an entry foyer, the Triṣṭa Side Chest brings equilibrium and grace to every corner it inhabits.

Sacred Parts, Timeless Wholeness

Each component reflects a story of devotion, culture, and skilled hands

Arana Top of Trista Side Chest

Arana Top

Often likened to a rising sun, the Āraṇa Top is carved from a single plank of solid hardwood and shaped into a softened half-moon. Its gently eased edges feel warm to the touch, while the wood’s natural undulations give each chest a unique fingerprint. This crowned surface invites you to display art glass, brass lamps, or family photos—your objects held aloft by the chest’s regal sweep.

Prabhā Drawer Faces of Trista Side Chest

Prabhā Drawer Faces

The Triṣṭa’s three drawer faces—known as Prabhā (radiance)—are each inset with a deep-set panel that casts elegant shadows. Hand-routed reveals align precisely across the façade, creating a grid that balances visual interest with serene order. When opened, each drawer glides on solid-wood runners, revealing a smoothly sanded interior ready to house linens, literature, or personal keepsakes.

Vṛtti Ring Pulls of Trista Side Chest

Vṛtti Ring Pulls

Forged in small artisan batches, the solid-brass Vṛtti ring pulls derive their name from the Sanskrit for “rhythm” or “flow.” Their flattened rings pivot on concealed bosses, adding a tactile flourish that complements the chest’s carved geometry. Over time, the brass develops a warm patina—each finger’s touch leaving a story in lustrous metal.

Stambha Frame Stiles of Trista Side Chest

Stambha Frame Stiles

Four graceful stiles—titled Stambha, or “pillar”—rise from the plinth to the tabletop, framing the drawer bank like columns in a classical façade. Each stile is hand-shaped on a spokeshave and then chamfered to a slender, inward-tapering profile. Their subtle curvature and unwavering strength lend the chest a sense of upward motion and architectural dignity.
